CLEANSE Q+A

There is no such thing as a silly question.

Here are some commonly asked questions and their answers, but if you ever have any specific questions, you can always consult your doctor or drop us a line at contact@juicebysqueeze.com.

Making Green Juice

What is the difference between drinking a cold-pressed juice periodically and participating in a juice cleanse?

A juice cleanse involves replacing meals with juice for a specific period of time, typically to rest your digestive system and boost nutrient intake. Drinking a cold-pressed juice from time to time does not necessarily replace meals as you still need to provide enough nutrients to your body.

How long should I cleanse for?

It is best to listen to your body. If you have medical needs to pay attention to, you may also want to consult your doctor before exploring a juice cleanse. Most juice cleanses are based on your personal health and wellness goals and generally consist of a 3-day or 5-day cleanse. Juice by squeeze does offer a 7-day Challenge to those with specific goals in mind.

Is cleansing safe for pregnant/breastfeeding women, young children, or the elderly?

While consuming a cold-pressed juice here or there is totally fine, a full cleanse would not be recommended. It is always best to consult your doctor before entering into a strict cleanse.

Can I eat while cleansing?

Depending on the cleanse length, you are able to eat. Sometimes you are able to eat one healthy meal during the day, other cleanses consider small amounts of raw vegetables, nuts, or seeds to fulfill the food element, and other cleanses enforce a strict juice diet for that period of time. You will want to consider your cleanse goals and the nutrients that are in the juices that you are consuming.

Can I drink coffee or tea while cleansing?

While caffeine is not recommended during a cleanse, it is understandable that coffee or tea may be a “vital” part to your day. Just know that consuming caffeine may alter the expected results of the cleanse.

Can I exercise during a cleanse?

Light exercise is perfectly fine while cleansing. Heavy lifting or extensive cardio is not ideal as it may result in adjusting your juice intake to compensate for calorie loss.

What happens after my cleanse is finished?

It is important to listen to your body. Slowly introduce smaller solid meals back into your daily diet, and focus on maintaining a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins for your long-term health and wellness goals. Think of your cleanse as a reboot for your body, a fresh start. Introduce healthy solids and avoid processed foods and artificial ingredients.

How can I make my juices last longer without consuming them all in one week?

It is actually a little secret that freezing your juices will give them extended life. Once you receive your Cleanse Kit, you can choose to keep a few of your choice in the freezer to keep them fresh, and when you are ready to drink them, just let them thaw in the sink or refrigerator for a couple hours, and you can enjoy them as a slushie, or wait until they are completely thawed, and they will be good to drink.

Do I still need to drink water?

Absolutely! While cold-pressed juice may contain minimal water extracted from the fruits and vegetables, there is not enough water to meet your daily expectancy for water intake. You still need to aim to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day.
